THE MYSTERY BEHIND TOBA TEK SINGH!!

REPORT

To express the historical theme and the past of TOBA TEK SINGH I have used narration with pictures which is in the form of a short video. It is a imaginary narration of the past of TOBA TEK SINGH with some of the pictures which are related to the particular situations. After watching this video we might get a picture of what had happened in the past which was not revealed in the story and why are things happening in present(in the story).

Any type of creative mode of expression is required to express historical re-imagination because while explaining the imaginary history of something there should be kind of curiosity among the viewers or the listeners taking up some creative mode to express adds a special thing to the story which is formed or imagined. Mere writing the imagined past as another part of the story would make the reader bore, unsatisfied and would lose his interest to read that. When expressed in creative manner the reader would find it interesting and would be very excited and curious to know about the things which were not in the story.

Here the context which I have chosen to describe the past of TOBA TEK SINGH is the life of the old Sikh man Bashan Singh. I have considered TOBA TEK SINGH as a place in the past re-imagination and described the life of the main character in the story Bashan Singh. I have tried to explain why Bashan Singh had to be in the house of lunatic by assuming some things by myself and taking some points from the given story. I have considered him as a landlord in the past time because it was mentioned in the story, and imagined he had a beautiful wife and a daughter, his wife unfortunately passes away and from that time he starts to face difficulties in every situation. He had to marry one more women who was too greedy and married him only for his wealth and money. In between all this his poor daughter faces many problems. One day his wife with all his other brothers planned to killed Bashan Singh and were unsuccessful. In this imaginary story which I have formed Bashan Singh who was a landlord affected very badly, all his property land and wealth were looted by his own wife and brothers who were extremely jealous of his nature. Other than the main character Bashan Singh my story also includes many other Characters such as his wife, daughter, second wife, brothers and some of his fellow villagers to whom he helped a lot.

In this past imagined story the main turning point in the life of Bashan Singh is death of his first wife, until then he lived his life happily working in the field feeding cattle and spending some happy time with his wife and daughter. After his wife death everything changed, he alone had to look after his daughter house farm and everything which he felt as a burden and decided to get married once again so that someone would look after the house and would show some love towards his daughter. But this did not happen as Bashan Singh had expected, things started to hit him differently and now even more problems had arrived in his life. It would have been different if his first wife was still alive, he would as usual spend his time in farm and helping other and his daughter would have got mothers pamper and love and there would be no problem in his life. All his brothers would have learnt working hard and he himself with appreciation would have given his brothers some land and wealth which he had. Nobody would have tried to harm him and he would be healthy and safe in his house with all his family rather than sitting there in the mental asylum spending time as a lunatic with other lunatics like him.

Future prediction:- according to writer in the story Bashan Singh had a daughter who used to come to visit him, which shows that still his daughter had affection over him. But later she stopped coming to visit him, one day when his friend came to visit him he wanted to tell something about his daughter but stopped in the middle and told she was fine. If she was really fine there is a chance of her coming and taking Bashan Singh out of the mental asylum and show his place TOBA TEK SINGH which was running through his mind all day.
