REPORT
To convey my thoughts on toba tek singh, I have chosen
poster as mode for creative expression. I think posters can easily convey my
thoughts than writing in words. Posters are more attractive than words which
will draw attention of many people. For lazy people like me, who yawns after
reading few sentences, it is the best way to attract them.
History is a very interesting subject. It is important to
know what all events had happened during the past. For better understanding of
history, a creative mode of expression is necessary in historical re-imagination
as human minds are more attracted towards creativity than a huge amount of
words. Hence it is very crucial to reconstruct the history through creativity
for better understanding of it.
The historical context I have chosen is partition. The
partition displaced between 10 and 20 million people along religious lines,
creating overwhelming refugee crises in the newly constituted dominions. There
was large-scale violence, with estimates of loss of life accompanying or preceding
the partition disputed and varying between several hundred thousand and two
million. The violent nature of the partition created an atmosphere of hostility
and suspicion between India and Pakistan that affects their relationship to
this day. In my drawing I have shown the incident when Bishan Singh and other
lunatics were exchanged between the separated countries,
If the partition were not to occur both the countries could
have lived together in peace. There wouldn’t be a Indo-Pakistani war, Kargil war,
etc. All this bloodshed and deaths could me avoided. So many lives and family
could have been be saved.
