 REPORT :

My creative expression is about how "THE PARTITION 1947 " created overwhelming refugee crisis in the newly constitued dominions. There was large scale violation , with estimates of loss of life accompanying or preceding the partition disputed and varying between several hundred thousand, and how women were being abducted, assaulted and forced to convert religion. By facing and experiencing all these atrocities, brought enmity in one's own religion which lead to the formation of a new religion "TOBA TEK SINGH" who objected from being a part of the corrupted religion ( Hindu/Muslim ).

The mode in which I've tried to express my content is through a poster as well as adding on the effectiveness of the subject in the form of poetry. The reason i choose poster and poetry as the mode of expression is to project the sufferings gone through by the innocents in a more appealing way through a poster filled with pictures of the scenario and throw light upon it with gut wrenching poetry.

The title " PARTITION OF A HOMELAND " is suitable for my content. As it signifies how the partition lead to a separation of a home country, which together fought its way for the independence of India against the British and in the end parted their ways into two different foreign countries. Secondly, the existence of enmity in one's own religion lead to the formation of  a new religion ,which further brought peace among the innocent people who refused to barge in their ways in the crucial matters of the Hindu/Muslim which justifies with the subtitle i,e. "MAKING PEACE WITH PARTITION."

Creative mode of expression is important in historical re-imagination as it contains the ability and capacity to recreate the original ideas into positive effects ,to think uniquely and imagine things in order to make things or cause things to be or to become or to bring into existence. Having a creative outlet is important. Creativity helps to radiate the history and make us experience the past moment and past feeling in the present. This was one of my main reasons to choose poster and poetry as the mode of expression. As it helped in re-imagining the hardship gone through the locals in the history by having a view on the pictures of the poster and also bring upon the deep felt emotion through poetry and become teary-eyed.

The partition of India 1947 ended almost two centuries of British rule in region and led to the largest mass migration in human history. The partition created the independent nations of Muslim-majority Pakistan and Hindu-majority India. About 15 million people moved or were forced to move, and between half a million 2 million died in the ensuing violence. The massacres began soon after the British announced partition; Neighbors slaughtered neighbors; childhood friends became sworn enemies. As I mentioned in the poster the first poetry is about how there was bloodstream from both the religion . In which one killed and assualted his own religion and it proved that the religion never mattered , whether it was the opposing party or was its own. Though they were of different religion after being killed both the bloodstreams became one in the soil. Even the soil refused the corrupted  gift which bore hatred. Hindus and Sikhs fled Pakistan, a country that would be Muslim- controlled. Muslims in modern-day India fled in the opposite direction. The legacy of that violent separation has endured , resulting in a bitter rivalry between India and Pakistan.

Secondly, during the partition of India, violence against women was an extensive issue. They were raped , abducted or killed during the whole ordeal. The rape of women by males during this period is well documented, with women also being complicit in these attacks. Sikh women were targetted by Muslim mobs and eventually Sikhs targetted the Muslim Women. Muslim women in Bihar committed suicide by jumping into wells, they were subjected to stripping, nude processions and rape by Hindu mobs. Both Sikh and Muslim communities also cited revenge as a reason for their attacks. There was a nude procession of Muslim women in the golden temple in Amritsar. The pathans abducted a large number of non-Muslim women from Kashmir and sold them in West Punjab and these sold women often ended up as 'slave girls' in factories. Many women also refused to be recovered, fearing being shamed . It lead to a stage where the Hindu/Sikh mobs asualted the Hindu women and similarly Muslim mobs asualted the Muslim women. This bore hatred in the hearts of the women when it comes to their knowledge that their own religion line  filled with poison. They were shamed and had the fear of getting rejected by their families and communities.

As people were being discriminated, killed and asualted by their own community/religion , they had no more of respect or love towards their community.  All the women wanted to disappear from noxious deadly community. These instances led to the formation of a new religion and it was named " TOBA TEK SINGH" . The religion which sustained peace among all, happiness, enlightened hope and belief, most importantly respect. It gave the equal rights and served justice. Everybody felt that this was the religion one should follow and be guided from. The religion from where they had been was nothing but a hell of no humanity. It was toxic and difficult for one to survive . They were happy that they formed a religion which was ready to warmly welcome anybody in search of humanity. Gradually , there were millions of people who cordially joined the "TOBA TEK SINGH" community.

The one thing which actually struck me was that the Hindu-Muslim fought side by side during the Independence day of India, they were in support of each other throughout the freedom fight but after their Independence the strike of their enmity created the chaos in Asia .The one thing i wish that could have been different is the negotiation of peace and friendship between Hindu-Muslim. An official truce would have proved their fellowship, which would further not lead to any partition, bloodshed or assualt  of any sort.
